Impact Stories

Supporting Reunification

A mother in Whitby with a high-needs child placed in the care and custody of CAS was overwhelmed by legal processes and system barriers. I worked closely with her to connect her to consistent legal support, helping her understand her rights and the steps required for reunification. Together, we secured stable housing options that strengthened her readiness for her child’s return. I guided her through the child welfare system, ensuring she felt informed and supported at every stage. As a result, she is now more confident, prepared, and actively working toward a safe reunification with her child.

Strengthening Stability for a Family of Six

A mother in Ajax caring for six children was struggling with housing insecurity, financial pressures, and difficulty accessing benefits and education supports. I helped her maintain her housing by advocating on her behalf and connecting her to essential resources. I also supported her children to apply to college and complete high school, while helping her foster meaningful, positive connections with her children. Through regular check-ins, guidance, and practical advice, I helped her family navigate complex systems related to finances, housing, and employment. She is now more stable, empowered, and equipped to provide long-term security for her family.

Navigating Family Court and Building Self-Sufficiency

A mother in Oshawa with two children was facing significant challenges navigating the family court system and securing legal support. I helped her find a reliable lawyer and supported her in understanding each step of the legal process. I also ensured her children were enrolled in appropriate programs that supported their wellbeing and development. By connecting her to community services and helping her build practical skills, I supported her journey toward greater self-sufficiency. Today, she feels more confident, informed, and able to advocate for herself and her children.
