YOUTH HUB
DFCC endeavors to impact the lives of our youth our elders, and our community through our mentorship programs.
DFCC youth hub is designed by youth for youth to meet and build connections. This is a safe space to participate in a variety of activities, such as video games, movie nights, homework, and chess club. All youth programs provide a chance for our youth to gain community service hours while learning new skills.
Pathways to Success
A 3-week program for youth 15-25 to develop and gain the skills and tools for success. Attendance in the program gives the youth the opportunity to be matched with a program mentor. Program focus:
Employment readiness skills
Entrepreneurship skills
Career pathways
And Still I Rise - Life skills leaderships Development Program:
A 3-week program with a weekly meet up for youth ages 12-18 years with attention on transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. Workshop topics (include but not limited to):
Mental health and wellness
Healthy relationships
Financial literacy
SMART goals
Community outings and events
Together We Can - Youth Transitioning Out of the Child Welfare System
Together we walk alongside our Black and Racialized youth 18-25 years who are progressing out of care, have left their foster home or group home setting, and or/no longer fall within the Children’s Aid Society obligation.
LGBTQ2S+ Heart 2 Heart
We provide a safe and brave space for our youth to be themselves and celebrate their identity. We offer:
Counselling support
Advocacy support
Mentoring
workshops
Group events
