As part of the Safe Voices initiative, we are planning a youth-centred community conference in recognition of Woman Abuse Prevention Month in November. The event will bring together Black and racialized girls, young women, and gender-diverse youth, including LGBTQ2S+ individuals who identify with or have connections to womanhood, alongside parents and caregivers, for meaningful conversations about healthy relationships, consent, personal boundaries, and emotional safety.
Through guest speaker presentations, interactive discussions, and a creative performance by a local artist, participants will have opportunities to recognize healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviours, explore the importance of boundaries, and build confidence in advocating for their well-being. The event will centre the experiences of Black and racialized girls and young women while fostering an inclusive, affirming, and supportive environment for gender-diverse youth, families, and community members.
Guest speakers: Keisha Ann-Marie Evans and Raine Liliefeldt
Free. Registration is required: https://forms.gle/4YkxZRBV2YC8f1vr9
